Well, I am settled in to the Chicago area (less than a hour from downtown Chicago) in Channahon/Minooka and damn is it cold and windy! Never seen anything like it.
The new job has been great and the money is excellent. Working in a Union facility is a whole different experience than what I am used to and the hours (for now) are very manageable. If you work in the chemical industry there are literally jobs EVERYWHERE here. I am amazed how many companies there are in this one little area. Exxon Mobil, Citgo, Aux Sable, Lyondell, Oil Tanking, etc. The list just goes on and on. Every morning as I drive to work I can see what look like huge cities of lights in the distance that are oil refining and chemical plants. After spending months in Ohio looking for decent work (after my layoff last August) I know I made the right decision by moving.
I have been trying to ease back into drawing but haven't found my pace just yet. I plan to continue to work with the talented colorist
when possible and I am still trying to find a solid, RELIABLE inker to collab with. I can probably even start paying a little.
